Vaccines could be required annually: Pfizer

pfizer

NEW YORK: In an interview with the BBC, before the emergence of the Omicron variant, Pfizer chief executive officer Albert Bourla said he believed annual re-vaccination would be required to maintain robust defense.

He described the development of the Pfizer-Biontech jab as demonstration of human ingenuity and power that has saved millions of lives and trillions of dollars.

December 8 marks one year since the first ever COVID-19 vaccine was administered.

It was a Pfizer-Biontech shot given to a 91-year-old British woman, starting a mass vaccination program that has seen more than 46 million people in the UK immunized with either the Pfizer-Biontech, AstraZeneca or Moderna vaccines.
