19-year-old girl runs from class, tuition centre owner held for rape attempt

NEDUMANGAD: A tuition centre owner has been arrested for trying to sexually abuse a 19-year-old girl who came for the spoken English class in Aruvikkara. The Aruvikkara police arrested Mohan Saroop (45) of Kalkuzhi in the case. He was running tuition centres named Brains Academy in Aruvikkaran, Mundela and Kulakode areas. He used to physically abuse female students, use sexually explicit words and take pictures on his mobile phone.

He misbehaved with the girl a week ago when the other students were not in class. The girl who ran from there failed to turn up later. The girl revealed the incident to her classmates and they informed the police later. A team led by Aruvikkara SHO Shibu Kumar arrested the accused last night. There was a complaint against him for misbehaving with women at his specs shop also. The accused produced in Nedumangad Court has been remanded.
