First suspected case of Omicron in Kozhikode; Patient’s sample sent for genome sequencing

KOZHIKODE: The samples of a doctor who came from the UK has sent for genome sequencing. He returned home on November 21 and was confirmed of Covid-19 on November 26. The patient’s mother has also tested positive. They are under observation. They have not showed any serious symptoms.

The samples were sent for genome sequencing as they have not recovered from it even after eight days. Kozhikode DMO said the results would be available soon. He came in contact in four districts. A list of those who came in contact with him has been prepared and sent to other districts.
