karnataka

BENGALURU: The Karnataka government has taken strict action following the detection of the Omicron virus. Only those who have taken the two doses of the vaccine are allowed in public places. The state has imposed restrictions on all crowded events. In addition, the government imposed restrictions on malls and movie theatres. Health workers have also been directed to strictly check those coming from Kerala. Apart from this, strict control has been imposed in Bengaluru. The government has decided not to allow anyone without a Covid negative certificate into the city of Bengaluru.

Meantime, India's top genome scientists have said that a booster dose may be considered for people above 40 years. The recommendation was made through the weekly bulletin of the Indian Source-COV-2 Genomics Sequencing Consortium (INSACOG), a network of laboratories set up by the government to detect various genetic variants of Covid.
