Kerala records 4557 COVID-19 cases on Saturday, 52 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 4557 COVID-19 cases on Saturday. Among these, 4305 persons developed the disease through contact, including 205 cases without an identified source of infection. Nine persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 38 health workers contracted the disease on Saturday.

5108 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 43,771 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 52 deaths due to the virus on Saturday with the toll rising to 41,439.

District wise breakup of positive cases:

Thiruvananthapuram 814, Ernakulam 606, Kozhikode 566, Thrissur 489, Kollam 350, Kottayam 347, Kannur 276, Malappuram 233, Pathanamthitta 211, Alappuzha 160, Palakkad 151, Idukki 139, Wayanad 135, and Kasaragod 80.
