IDUKKI: CPM leader MM Mani has come down heavily at former Devikulam MLA S Rajendran. Mani was speaking at the inaugural function of the Marayur area conference. During his speech, Mani openly expressed his displeasure over Rajendran skipping the area conference.
"Rajendran cannot remain in the party without attending the area conferences. He can move forward by politely accepting what he gets. Rajendran has political consciousness. But what will one do if political consciousness goes astray? He had been an MLA three times-15 years. He had also become the district panchayat president. He will get a good amount as a pension for the rest of his life. What more can the party do?" Mani said.
Mani also said that the party would discuss the commission report against Rajendran and make a decision based on it. "It is anti-organizational to not attend conferences, no matter what the problem is. Since he chose to skip the area conferences, he will not be able to remain in the party even if the commission report is positive. He will be expelled," Mani added.
