KOCHI: The government has got a temporary relief in connection with the re-appointment of vice-chancellor of Kannur University. The Kerala High Court dismissed the plea challenging the reappointment. Dismissing the plea, the court clarified that Gopinath Raveendran can continue as Kannur VC.

The plea was filed by Kannur University senate member Dr Premachandran Keezhoth and academic council member Shino P Jose seeking the removal of the vice chancellor.

The high court dismissed the plea on the ground that issues including age limit did not exist. The petitioners will approach the division bench in the coming days. After the argument held on December 2, the case was postponed to today for pronouncing the verdict.

Gopinath Raveendran responded saying that there was nothing wrong in reappointing him. The problem was that the issue was used politically. Got justice, and said that he would not say anything about the chancellor while serving as the vice-chancellor.
