Government yet to fulfill promise, private bus owners call indefinite strike from December 21

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Private bus owners have announced an indefinite strike as the government has not kept their promises even after one month. The main disagreement of the bus owners was to give concessions to the students. Private bus owners demanded either a tax deduction or a diesel subsidy for the concession exemption. The owners say that they made their demands clear to the government but it wasn't considered. They warned that the strike would start from December 21 if the demands are not considered.

The bus owners alleged that even the Justice Ramachandran Commission had accepted their demand and yet the government was not ready for the fare hike and the government was not ready for the fare hike despite the Transport Minister saying that it would be resolved within a month.
