Massive fire breaks out at Kottayam Medical College; 16 workers in warehouse rescued

KOTTAYAM: A massive fire has broken out at Kottayam Medical College Hospital. Sources said that the fire broke out from the waste dump near the hospital. Firefighters are trying to contain the blaze. There were 16 women workers and a child inside the warehouse. No casualties have been reported so far.

A major accident was averted as the waste dump was some distance away from the wards. Workers said that the fire broke out while they were separating food waste and plastic.
