KOCHI: It is suspected that there was an attempt to sabotage a train at the Kumbalam-Aroor railway bridge. Inspection cap grills were found lying on the railway tracks. The incident took place this morning.

There is a gap in the pavement of the Kumbalam-Aroor railway bridge for inspection at the places where the pillars have been placed. These parts are sealed with fiber grills.

Thirteen such fiber grills were found lying on the railway track. Of these, five were on track and eight were in the middle of the tracks. The object was identified by the driver of the train engine that arrived around 1.30 am.

The Railway Protection Force reached the spot and inspected the tracks. The police are of the view that it cannot be said that it was a sabotage attempt.

There were some disputes with the fishermen as part of the construction work on the railway bridge. Panangad police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
