KOCHI: The High Court has barred the installation of boundary stones inscribed 'K-Rail' on the land to be acquired for the K-Rail project. While stating that the ongoing land survey can continue, the court added that such signs were not allowed for land acquisition. The court also said that only stones 60 cm long can be installed. The action was taken on a petition filed by Kottayam residents.
The petitioners are the owners of the land through which the project passes. The court said that the survey can continue as per the Kerala Survey and Boundaries Act. Several persons had protested against the installation of boundary stones for the semi-high speed railway project being implemented by the Kerala Rail Development Corporation.
