Police cases shifted from Justice Devan Ramachandran bench, changes come after criticism against police

high-court

KOCHI: Changes have been brought about in the matters of consideration of High Court judges. The cases of police protection and police misconduct have been shifted to the bench of Justice Anu Shivaraman. The list of bail petitions has also been changed.

A bench of Justice Devan Ramachandran had earlier considered cases related to the police. The police have come under heavy criticism from the high court recently in the Monson case and the case against the Pink police. However, the High Court held that the change in the consideration list was a natural step.

The consideration list changes in the High Court when there is a long holiday. The change in consideration, including police-related petitions, will take effect when the court reopens after the Christmas holidays.
