Four fishermen killed, 24 injured as bus collides with van in Chavara

KOLLAM: Four fishermen were killed and 24 others injured when the mini bus in which they were travelling collided with a van at Chavara in Kollam. The bus was heading to Beypore harbour for fishing while the van was on its way to Neendakara fishing harbour to load fish.


Karunambaram (56) and Berchuman (45) both from Pulluvila, Justin (56) of Vizhinjam and Biju (35) of Tamil Nadu were those killed.

Two seriously injured have been admitted at the Thiruvananthapuram medical college hospital. Roy of Marthandam and Varghese of Vizhinjam are the two seriously injured.

22 are under treatment at the Karunagapally taluk hospital. 12 of the victims are from Tamil Nadu.
