Walayar incident very painful, sisters were brutally harassed, says CBI

walayar-

PALAKKAD: The charge sheet filed by the CBI mentioned that the sisters in Walayar faced brutal harassment. The remarks were in the charge sheet filed in the Palakkad POCSO Court by CBI Thiruvananthapuram Unit Special Crime Cell DySP T P Ananthakrishnan.

The Walayar incident was very painful. The sisters faced brutal harassment even from those they were supposed to protect. The charge sheet said they may have taken the drastic step as they were unable to bear the pain. The accused Valya Madhu and Cheriya Madhu are the girls’ close relatives. The increase in the brutal harassment from relatives and those responsible for protecting children is a matter of concern.

The next step is to send summons to the accused after court examines the charge sheet. The charge sheet will be made available to the accused. The re-trial in the case will begin later.

Meantime, the girls’ mother termed mysterious completing the investigation and filing the charge sheet in a hurry. The CBI did not investigate the possibility of murder. In a letter to CBI DySP, she blamed that the CBI did not consider their need to subject key witnesses, including herself and her husband, to undergo a lie detector test. She said the case was handed over to the CBI as a result of legal battles as the mother of the girls and therefore the CBI should show responsibility for hearing her and her husband once again.

She had told the CBI that the police had asked the witnesses including herself to give false statements. This is the reason why she demanded a polygraph test.
