Ranjith murder: Killers used SIM card taken in name of housewife; unaware of this, woman faints at end of interrogation

ALAPPUZHA: The investigation team probing the murder case of BJP leader Adv Ranjith has revealed that the killers used the SIM card taken in the name of an innocent housewife.

The mobile shop owner and the killer gang organized the housewife's documents and took the SIM card. The scam came to light after the housewife was questioned by the police. The woman fainted at the station during interrogation. After questioning her three times, the investigation team was convinced that she was innocent.

Police said the other SIM cards used by the accused were similarly organized in the name of innocents. The killer gang was in constant contact using these SIM cards.

The owner of the mobile shop has given a statement to the police station that Zulfikar, a member of Punnapra panchayat, had taken a fake SIM card in the name of the housewife.
