THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police probing the Pettah murder conducted evidence collection along with the accused Simon Lalan on Wednesday. Lalan, the accused in the murder of 19-year-old Aneesh George in Pettah, was brought to collect evidence. Simon knew that his daughter's friend Aneesh George would come home. Pettah circle inspector Riyas Raj said Simon who had personal animosity towards Aneesh, was not summoned and killed.

Lalan’s daughter had an affair with Aneesh. He entered his daughter’s room after breaking it open and seeing Aneesh there, he stabbed him on his chest. Lalan told this to the police. The knife used for the murder was found hidden in the water meter box.

On the day of the fateful incident, Lalan told police that he stabbed him mistaking him as a thief. The police understood that it was a lie after understanding that Lalan knew Aneesh before. Aneesh George of Pettah was murdered on December 29 at the girl’s house.
