Those who did not hand over their partners also sexually assaulted complainant; Kottayam native woman sexually assaulted by nine men

KOTTAYAM: More information has come out regarding the incident in which a large group of men sexually assaulted women by exchanging partners. The partners were exchanged through seven groups formed on various social media platforms. Police have found that these groups consisted of 5000 members. The groups consisted of newlywed couples as well as those who have been married for nearly 20 years.

According to the police, the complainant, a resident of Kottayam, was sexually assaulted by those who did not hand over the partners. Out of the total of nine accused, only five came with partners. The remaining four arrived without partners. The police investigation also found that those without partners are known as studs. They will have to pay Rs 14,000. Police said that several such youths were members of the group.

According to police, the incident of handing over partners for money to non-partners falls under the category of prostitution. The culprits will be charged under such provisions. Police are trying to track down the complainants by focusing on the numbers found in the groups. Police said that many are reluctant to file a complaint because they live in families. The sex trade was concentrated in various houses that even had children. Hence, no one had raised any suspicion.

At present, people from Kollam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam and Kottayam districts have been arrested in the case. The Karukachal police registered a case and arrested them on the basis of a complaint lodged by a Kottayam native. Police have found that the Kottayam native was sexually assaulted by nine people. Six of them were arrested by the police. The probe team found that one of the three other accused had entered Saudi Arabia.
