KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Monday said that individuals who buy land and build homes near toddy shops cannot argue that the toddy shops are breaching their privacy. Earlier, the single bench had ordered the relocation of a toddy shop in Vaikom Range on a petition filed by a neighbouring housewife. A division bench comprising Justice PB Suresh Kumar and Justice CS Sudha passed the order on an appeal filed by the shop owner.
The toddy shop was started in 1994-95. The housewife bought the land near the shop in 2005. She built the house on this plot 5 years later.
