Slaps for not contributing, former party activist complains against CPM leaders

PATHANAMTHITTA: A complaint has been lodged against CPM leaders for beating a trader for not contributing to the party meet. Jacob K Mathew of Kumbanad was beaten. The complainant is a former CPM activist and ex-soldier.

Jacob said DYFI activists and CPM’s branch and local secretaries reached the restaurant and demanded donation. The visuals of slapping him have surfaced. The police have registered a case and an investigation has started.

Jacob, a CPM branch committee member was ousted from the party for publicly criticising Minister Veena George.
