Christmas-New Year bumper: Ticket sold in Kottayam wins first prize

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The results of the Christmas-New Year bumper lottery was announced Sunday afternoon. The results of Kerala bumper lottery of Rs 12 crore was released after a draw conducted in the presence of government officials.

The first prize has gone to ticket number XG 218582 sold by agent Biji Varghese in Kottayam. The ticket was sold by Bens Lottery Agency in Kottayam city. The lucky winner is yet to be traced.

The second prize of Rs 50 lakh each will be given to six (total Rs 3 crore). Third prize of Rs 10 lakh will be given to six each and fourth prize of Rs 5 lakh each will be given to six.

In addition, there are many other prizes like 5000, 3000, 2000 and 1000.

Tickets were released in five series-- XA, XB, XC, XD, XE and XG. Forty-seven lakh and forty thousand tickets were printed by the lottery department. The lottery department said most of the tickets had been sold.
