Crazy luck! Sadanandan bought lottery when he went out to buy meat in morning and won Rs 12 crores within hours

KOTTAYAM: No one can tell how luck works. This is true in Sadanandan's case. He bought the Christmas and New Year bumper lottery ticket in the morning and won the first prize of Rs 12 crores within hours. He bought the ticket when he went out to buy meat in the morning. When the lot was drawn at 12 noon, the ticket Sadanandan bought had won 12 crores!

Sadanandan is native of Kudayampadi, Kottayam. The prize-winning ticket number is XG 218582. Sadanandan and his family live in a small house in Kudayampadi. He has been working as a painter for over 50 years. He says there is a lot of debt and wants to do everything for his children. The Benz Lotteries Agency in Kottayam sold the prize-winning ticket. This is a ticket sold by BG Varghese, a lottery agent in Kottayam.

The second prize will be Rs 50 lakh each for six persons (total Rs 3 crore). The third prize of Rs 10 lakh will be given to six persons and the fourth prize of Rs 5 lakh will be given to six persons. In addition to this, there are many other prizes like 5000, 3000, 2000 and 1000. Tickets have been issued in five series namely XA, XB, XC, XD, XE and XG. More than forty seven lakh tickets were printed by the lottery department. According to the lottery department, most of the tickets were sold out.
