Actress assault case: Additional public prosecutor KB Sunil to appear for government

KOCHI: Additional public prosecutor KB Sunil will appear for the government at the trial court in the actress assault case. KB Sunil, who is currently a member of the prosecution's advocacy team, has been appointed by the Director General of Prosecutions. Advocate Anil Kumar, who was the special prosecutor, had recently resigned.

However, the report of reinvestigation will not be filed tomorrow. The Crime Branch has decided to seek more time to submit the report. The Crime Branch is of the view that more time is needed as scientific examination of the digital evidence is required. The trial court had asked to file a report on the progress of reinvestigation on January 20. However, the crime branch will inform the court tomorrow that only the preliminary investigation has been completed and no information has been received to submit the investigation report.
