Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam see huge spike in Covid cases on Thursday, over 9000 cases reported in both districts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Of the fresh Covid cases on Thursday, Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam witnessed the highest number of cases. In the Thiruvananthapuram district, 9720 Covid cases were reported today. 1701 people recovered from the virus and the test positivity rate is 46.68 percent. Of the reported cases, 48,712 confirmed patients are undergoing treatment.

In Ernakulam, 9605 people were diagnosed with the disease. Covid cases in other districts: Kozhikode 4016, Thrissur 3627, Kottayam 3091, Kollam 3002, Palakkad 2268, Malappuram 2259, Kannur 1973, Alappuzha 1926, Pathanamthitta 1497, Idukki 1441, Kasaragod 1135, Wayanad 827.

During the last 24 hours, 1,15,357 samples were tested.
