THRISSUR: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that the High Court imposed restrictions on public functions in Kasaragod district without hearing the party's opinion. The court intervention only applies to the Kasaragod district conference. The Kasargod district conference was concluded today with respect to the court order. The order does not apply to Thrissur. Kodiyeri informed that the conference will end tomorrow at 5 pm in Thrissur. He reiterated that the Covid spread is not due to CPM conference.

Following the High Court order, the CPM meeting in Kasaragod district was shortened to one day. The conference will be held till 10.30 tonight. The decision comes in the wake of the High Court banning all public meetings of more than 50 people for a week by an interim order.
