Youth sets new world record by playing chenda continuously for 104 hours

KOZHIKODE: A youth named broke the world record as he played 'chenda' in the town hall here for fours days continuously. Vishnu Odumbra, a civil engineering graduate, set the Best of India world record by playing chenda 104 hours straight.

He started the performance at 12 midnight on January 17 and ended it at 2 pm on Friday. The town hall erupted as he set a new record. Friends celebrated by carrying Vishnu on their shoulders.

Vishnu turned to this mission out of an unquenchable passion for chenda. For four days, hundreds of spectators flocked to the town hall, even from afar.


Director Ranjan Pramod inaugurated the function. Best of India record observers handed over the certificate and medal.
