NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court will on Monday consider government's demand seeking more time to complete the trial in the actress attack case. A bench of Justices A M Khanwilkar and C T Ravi Kumar will consider the matter. Nishe Rajan Shonkar, standing counsel for the state government, had demanded the court yesterday to consider government's bail plea urgently.
The apex court had earlier directed to complete the trial in the case by February 16 and pronounce the verdict. However, in the plea filed in the Supreme Court, the state government has said that director Balachandra Kumar's revelation against actor Dileep in the case needs further investigation. The government in the plea filed in the Supreme Court has pointed that the prosecutor has requested the court to postpone the trial in the case. Senior lawyers will appear in the court on Monday on behalf of the government.
