Mother dies after getting thrashed by drunk son

KOTTAYAM: A mother died after being beaten by her son in Vaikaprayar here. The deceased has been identified as Mandakini, wife of Surendran of Ozhuvil. Her son Baiju beat Mandakini under the influence of alcohol. She was then drowned in a nearby stream. Mandakini, who suffered to breath, was rushed to hospital but could not be saved.
