Main conspirator in RSS activist’s murder in Palakkad held

PALAKKAD: The main conspirator in the case of hacking to death RSS activist Sanjith in Mambaram has been arrested. Muhammed Haroon of Athicode in Kozhinjampara was taken into custody Monday morning. With this, the total number of people held in the case rose to 10.

A lookout notice was issued against Haroon a month back. Police said that he is the main conspirator in the case. Meantime, the police have not divulged the details from where he was nabbed. The district police chief is likely to explain about it this afternoon.

There are four more accused including one directly involved in the crime. Of that, three have role in conspiring the murder. Police said all the accused are SDPI Popular Front activists and local office-bearers.

Sanjith was hacked to death by a car borne team on November 15. The incident happened at Kinasseri near the Palakkad-Thrissur national highway. Sanjith was hacked to death in front of his wife, who was pillion riding with Sanjith.
