50% attendance, Saturday leave: demands Secretariat staff in letter written to CM against neglect amid Covid rise

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A letter was sent to the Chief Minister by the Secretariat Employees Action Council requesting him to take necessary precautions in the event of a Covid outbreak on the Secretariat campus.

The action council's demands include to end punching system in the secretariat, 50% attendance, with work-from-home facilities to others, leave on Saturday for the next one month and daily disinfection of sections. As per the letter, 40 per cent of the secretariat staff are affected by Covid and clusters are formed in several departments. They demand due consideration to Secretariat staff in this critical situation.
