Third wave to intensify; no one should starve, decision to restart community kitchens

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A decision has been taken in the cabinet meet convened here Thursday to restart community kitchens in the wake of Covid turning severe in the state. The meeting assessed that the entire members of a family are turning positive and so there should not arise a situation to starve. It has been directed that Covid defence activities should be strengthened in panchayats and the ministers in charge of the districts should convene a meeting to assess the arrangements. There is a warning that the highest daily cases of the third wave could happen very soon.

New post
It has been decided to create one post each for physical education instructors in nine Government Polytechnic Colleges under the Department of Technical Education. It is at Chelakkara, Nedumkandam, Meppadi, Kaduthuruthy, Kannur, Purappuzha, Manjeri, Mananthavady and Payyanur Residential Women's Polytechnic College.

Former legislator K Kutty Ahmed Kutty has been granted a medical advance of Rs 20 lakh for treatment at the Sree Chitra Thirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram, for heart ailments.
