DUBAI: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday reiterated that the state government will go ahead with the SilverLine project. Speaking at an event in Dubai, the CM said that he hoped the project would get final approval from the Centre.
"The initial procedures regarding the project are taking place in the state. Some people are opposing the project without even studying it. Meanwhile, some others are opposing the project with some other motive. However, people of the state want this project to become a reality," the CM said.
The CM said that the Vande Bharat train announced in the Union Budget was not suitable for Kerala and that Metroman E Sreedharan had expressed the same opinion.
The CM's response came a day after the Centre announced that the SilverLine project has not been approved. He said that preliminary approval has been obtained from the Centre and that the state is expecting to get final approval.
