Upset with crying for milk, youth smothers infant to death

MUMBAI: A youth brutally killed a two-year-old infant girl, when she began to cry for milk. The infant has been identified as the daughter of Puja Wagh, a 22-year-old, who had been living with her boyfriend after separating from her husband. The Bhayandar police have arrested the 21-year-old boyfriend Adil Munawar Khan for murder charges. Puja had been living with the accused for a long time. The incident happened while she was at work in a catering company. She had left the baby with her boyfriend.

Soon after she left for work, the accused informed her that the baby fell down while playing and asked her to rush to the hospital. When she reached the Tembhe hospital, the infant was declared dead. Out of suspicion, the hospital authorities had informed the police. The autopsy reported confirmed that the infant was smothered to death. The accused told the police that he had killed the baby as he got upset with her crying for milk.
