THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president K Surendran on Sunday said that the state government has confessed by remaining silent on the recent revelations made by Swapna Suresh, the accused in the gold smuggling case. According to Surendran, Swapna's revelation that it was the Kerala police that forged a voice recording in her name to file a case against ED officials was a serious one.

"Anyone can understand that the Chief Minister, who is in charge of the police department, was behind the conspiracy against the central agencies. It was also evident that the appointment of a Judicial Commission to conduct a probe against the central agencies was meant to sabotage the gold smuggling case. Action should be taken against the police officers who created fake audio clips," Surendran said.
