Is pension for ministers' personal staff paid from his pocket, he is not headache for govt, but for state: MM Mani criticizes governor

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former minister, CPM leader and MLA MM Mani has slammed Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, who had refused to sign the policy address, thereby putting the government under pressure. Speaking to reporters, he accused the governor of playing politics.

Mani's words

"The governor is playing politics. Haven't you heard him say recently why politicians are in the office of ministers? Who has no politics in this country. The current governor has changed his affiliation five times, not once or twice. He is now the governor along with the BJP. Then he says politicians should not be in the governor's office. Is there anyone in this community who is not a politician? I think he's just saying stupid things.

People like Surendran have a place in the Raj Bhavan. He is looking to become a governor again once his current term expires. Governor is not a headache for the government, but for the state. Is the pension for the personal staff of the ministers paid from his pocket or from the government treasury. Aren't there people with BJP and RSS affiliation in the PM's office? All their salaries are paid from the government treasury. Who pays the expenses in Raj Bhavan. It is his responsibility to sign the policy address. In my opinion, not signing is a cheap political game.

He is holding a position in which efficient people have held in the past. The last Governor was a Chief Justice. He worked decently. The current governor is playing cheap politics."
