Akshay Mohan was murdered by his father; youth was addicted to drugs, say sources

KALPETTA: A youth was found dead in his home in Wayanad on Monday morning. Now, police have confirmed that Akshay was murdered. Police have arrested Mohanan, the youth's father, in connection with the incident.

Akshay was found dead at his home in Mooppainad on Monday morning. Following this, police launched an investigation after registering a case of unnatural death. Upon questioning, Mohanan confessed to the crime. The preliminary conclusion Akshay was strangled to death using a cloth. Police said more information could be obtained only after obtaining the postmortem report.

It is learned that Akshay was a drug addict and used to constantly create trouble at home. This might have led to the murder, police said.
