THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A controversy has erupted over the hasty order issued by the Department of General Education giving Plus One students only three days to pay public exam fees. As per the order issued on Tuesday afternoon, the students should pay a fee of Rs 240 by the 11th of this month. They should pay an examination fee of Rs 200 and a certificate fee of Rs 40. After March 11th, they will have to pay the fees along with a fine.
The Plus One general examination will start on June 2. The authorities are asking the students to pay the examination fees hastily even when there are more than 2 months to go for the exams. Several people have criticised the order. Several parents might find it difficult to pay the fees within 3 days. Many have asked the authorities to extend the date of fee remittance.
