NEW DELHI: A tough fight is between the BJP and Congress in Uttarakhand. The BJP is leading with 40 seats. The Congress continues to struggle with 28 seats. Others lead in two seats.
Majority of the surveys had predicted a neck-to-neck fight in the state. The High Command has entrusted Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Bagel to oversee the further steps if the Congress is able to form a government in Uttarakhand. The BJP is already ahead when the first results of the state were out. The Aam Aadmi Party which was leading in one seat when the counting started, is not leading anywhere now. The elections were held for 70 assembly seats.
