THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Today marks the first day of Covid vaccination for children between the ages of 12 and 14. Vaccination facility will be available only at selected centres in Kerala. Centres are known at the district level.
Vaccination would only begin after the training for health workers on how to register on the Co-Win portal.
At a high-level meeting of the Health and Education departments on Tuesday, it was decided that vaccination should be expanded during the vacation after the exams. Guideline will be released later.
There is no facility for children between the ages of 12 and 14 to register on the Co-Win portal. Once it is set up, the online registration can start. Then there will be the spot registration facility. Anyone born in 2010 can register, but must be at least 12 years old on the day of vaccination. Children born before March 16, 2010 can be vaccinated.
'Vaccination can be done with proper planning, knowing the concerns of the parents as they are young children.', said Veena George
Minister of Health
