THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the media should be a corrective force in democracy by understanding the problems of the country and bring them to the attention of the government and the journalists should show enthusiasm and courage for that. He was presenting the government's media awards for 2018-19.
Truth-seeking is at the heart of journalism. Media work should be the commitment to always have their eyes and ears open to take up popular issues. The government is trying to create a new Kerala by reconstructing the state as a model for the world. It is not good to block new projects that are formulated with foresight. The government has an open mind to correct whoever points out mistakes.
