THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Director Ranjith Chairman of Kerala Chalachithra Academy said in an interview to Kaumudi that the film festival is focused on students who wants to work in film field. Film talents should emerge in the students. He also said that festival complex is needed as a permanent venue.
This is the first time Ranjith has become the Chairman. About 3,000 students between the ages of 18 and 23 are participating in the film festival. We need to capture their attention. IIFK is being held in the hope that there will be good filmmakers among the students.
A festival complex is a needed. I want to start it before my term expires. I have spoken to the Chief Minister and the Minister of Culture. A large amount of money from the film festival's fund is given to private theaters. . After the film fest, it can be utilized by the government or the tourism department. Or give it to mainstream movies. Festival Complex should be a cultural complex where plays and musical performances can take place. The academy is striving for that. It will be possible with the help of the government.
