THIRUAVANANTHAPURAM: CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran said there is a provision for hearing and redressal of grievances based on 2013 act for those losing homes in K Rail. Land is acquired based on this. He said land could be acquired under central law only after hearing the grievances of the stakeholders and resolving them.

Kanam said out stands are not after looking at the success or failure of elections. We have not admitted anywhere that failure was based on the Sabarimala issue. Despite allegations that the government acted against the will of the people at that time, the CPM and the CPI had not said anywhere that this was the reason for the election defeat, he said.

The state government alleged that the congress is inciting people to protest against SilverLine.
