KOCHI: After petrol and diesel, the price of cooking gas has also gone up. The price has been hiked by Rs 50 per cylinder for domestic use. In Kochi, the new price is Rs 956. Rs 13 has been hiked for the cylinder weighing five kilos.

Diesel price was hiked by 85 paise per litter and petrol by 88 paise in the country yesterday. The fuel price rose after 138 days. The revised price has come into effect. The price of a litre of petrol in Thiruvananthapuram today is Rs 107.23 paise and diesel Rs 94.32 paise. In Kozhikode, the petrol is priced at Rs 105.45 per liter and diesel at Rs 92.61 per litre.

There was an increase in the oil price just before the elections held in five states. Later, with the outbreak of the Ukraine-Russia war, global crude oil prices soared, but this was not reflected in the country. Russia has agreed to export fuel to China and India after the United States, Britain and various European countries banned Russia from supplying most of its fuel to Europe.
