Smuggles beer bottles with no hologram labels, CITU worker held for selling beer for Rs 400

KOTTAYAM: The excise took into custody a warehouse porter of Ayarkunnam for smuggling seven bottles of illicit beer having no hologram label of the beverages corporation. The arrested has been identified as Baiju of Punnathura Kalluvettu Kuzhy. The accused smuggled the beer bottles without the knowledge of the employees. He sold the liquor for Rs 400 on strike day. An inspection was carried out by Pampady excise range team and the excise intelligence bureau team on the instructions of deputy excise commissioner T A Ashok Kumar.
