Girl humiliated by Pink Police should be compensated, says court, govt puts responsibility on woman cop

KOCHI: The court said the eight-year-old girl humiliated in Attingal by the Pink Police should be compensated However, the government told the court that it is the responsibility of the police woman to pay the compensation.

The court said this while considering an appeal against the single bench verdict asking the government to pay Rs 1.5 lakh compensation to the eight-year-old girl. A division bench of Justice P B Suresh Kumar and Justice C S Sudha is considering the government's appeal.

The appeal claimed that the government is not liable to pay compensation for the personal fault of the police officer and that the judgment of the single bench is not lawful.
