NEW DELHI: The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has hiked toll rates in the country from Friday. According to the notification for 2022-23, the increase will be from Rs 10 to Rs 65.
There is a hike of Rs 10 for small vehicles and Rs. 65 for commercial vehicles. Rs 10 has been hiked for cars and jeeps, Rs 35 to Rs 50 for heavy vehicles like buses and trucks.
The toll at Kherki Daula toll plaza on the Delhi-Jaipur highway has been increased by 14 per cent. There is a 10% hike at KMP Expressway. Regular toll for car and jeep has been increased from Rs 70 to Rs 80. The toll for a mini bus has been increased from Rs 100 to Rs 115.
Travel in Delhi - Meerut Expressway will be charged 10 percent more. On the expressway, cars and jeeps from Sarai Kale Khan to Kashi Toll Plaza will have to pay Rs 155 instead of Rs 140.
Truck operators say rising fuel prices and rising tolls will adversely affect the supply of essentials. It will significantly affect the supply of fish, fruits, eggs, oil, food grains, medicines and fertilizers.
