Police seize gold smuggled in Karipur again; three held

KOZHIKODE: The police have once again seized gold smuggled in Karipur. One kilogram of gold smuggled from Dubai has been seized. The gold was smuggled by Sadiq, one among the accused.

Two others namely Shamseer and Ashiq, who came to receive Sadiq at the airport, have also been arrested. A similar incident was reported in front of the Karipur airport on Thursday as well.

The police had then seized a mixture of gold which was hidden in the body and smuggled from Dubai. Three people namely, a passenger from Dubai and two others who came to buy the gold, were arrested in connection with the incident. They were nabbed by the police when they came out after the customs inspection.
