NEW DELHI: AICC urged K V Thomas not to attend the seminar on CPM party congress. The leaders must stand by the KPCC decision. The AICC has stated that they will not change their stand and will not issue any directive.

CPM Kannur district secretary M V Jayarajan had mentioned in the morning that K V Thomas would participate in the programme in violation of KPCC ban. Thomas had responded that he had written to Sonia Gandhi seeking permission after consulting with the AICC.

'They sent the invitation ten or twenty days ago. I told them that I will think and decide. The central leadership was informed as soon as I got the letter. Sonia Gandhi and Sitaram Yechury attended Stalin's programme two days back. This is CPM’s national convention of the CPM. Let the AICC take a decision. Let their response come,’ Thomas had said.
