KOZHIKODE: It was earlier reported that a newlywed groom was drowned to death in Kuttiadipuzha during a post-wedding photoshoot. Now, police have come up stating that the incident did not take place during the photoshoot. According to the police, there was no photographer in the area when the youth drowned in the river. The couple reached the shores of Janakikad with their relatives at 11 am. Although they had a photoshoot at the same place yesterday, the photographer was not present when the incident took place today.

The deceased has been identified as Rejil of Kadiyangad in Kuttiadi. Though his wife Kanaka got stuck in the water currents, locals were able to save her. However, Kanaka's health condition remains critical.

The newlyweds were here again today with relatives after a photoshoot yesterday. Janakipuzha is a river that experiences tidal waves. Many unfamiliar people have met with accidents here before. However, Regil knew about this as he was a native of this place. The couple got married on March 14. Rejil's body is now being kept at Perambra Taluk Hospital.
