LUCKNOW: A five-year-old girl has been denied admission to a school due to a mistake made by officials in her Aadhaar card. A government school in Raipur village in Uttar Pradesh has refused to admit daughter of native Dinesh. In her Aadhaar card her name was given as 'Madhu's fifth child'.

Ekta Varshni, a teacher at the school, denied the student admission to the school after seeing the name in regional language and in English on the card. The teacher asked him to come after correcting the mistake in the Aadhaar card. School officials said the girl's name was incorrect and the number on the record was missing.

District Magistrate Deepa Rajan said the Aadhaar cards were being made at post offices and banks and the card was printed in such a wrong way due to careless handling of information there. She also said that strong action would be taken against the officials who make such mistakes.
