LONDON: A British MP of Pakistani descent is facing legal action in the UK. Wakefield MP Imran Ahmed Khan is facing charges of sexual harassment. A young man has complained to a British court that he was sexually assaulted by the MP in 2010 at a Pakistani guest house.
According to the youth, the incident took place after a party where drinks were served. Both of them used marijuana along with whiskey. The complainant alleged that Imran had given him a sleeping pill mixed with alcohol and sexually abused him while he was sleeping. The incident took place in November 2010. He immediately complained to the British High Commission and the Foreign Office. However, he did not want to go to police in Pakistan because of Khan's "powerful connections" in the military and government.
